SEPTEMBER 2007 PRESS RELEASE
Latest Update To Feed-back.com's "Retail Clinic Markets" Report Indicates Facility Growth May Meet Year-End Expectations
September 12th, 2007 (Jacksonville OR): If development continues at the current pace, the total number of retail clinics is likely to reach 700 by the end of 2007, as projected earlier this year by the Convenient Care Association (CCA; Philadelphia PA). In April 2007, Feed-back.com's research indicated there were 408 facilities in operation. By early August, the number exceeded 500 (September 2007 update to Feed-back.com's "Retail Clinic Markets” report).
According to Tine Hansen-Turton of CCA, "Americans have embraced this innovative and visionary model. Convenient care clinics are growing in number and becoming an important part of the U.S. health care landscape."
Obviously, increased numbers of facilities boost the revenue-generating potential for clinics and retailers. The business model is simple: Clinics are located in retail settings to provide patients with affordable, convenient health care services. Clearly displayed service menus include: Treatment for common ailments such as sore throats and skin rashes, diagnostic screenings, physical exams, and vaccinations.
The unanswered question is whether patient volumes will increase sufficiently to support thousands of retail clinics throughout the United States. So far, the market continues to grow as new facilities are opened -- even in states where retail clinics are well-established and may be reaching saturation.
Feed-back’s “Retail Clinic Markets” report presents revenue and growth rate estimates from 2007 through 2011. The bottom-up analysis is based on a combination of published material and interview/survey findings. The update brings the report length to 134 pages, with 29 figures and tables.
